Michael Moshell is Professor of Digital Media and Computer Science at the University of Central Florida. He has published over 50 papers concerning the use of graphics and simulation for learning. His research focuses on the creation of virtual communities of learners. He is working to develop multicultural on-line learning environments with Chinese and Arab collaborators.

Moshell received his Ph.D 1975 from Ohio State in Computer Science. He founded the IST Visual Systems Lab (a predecessor to MCL) and the Digital Media Program at the University of Central Florida. He was the first Director of the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, a graduate program for game developers. He has served as President of the International Digital Media and Arts Association (iDMAa).
